I gave a lecture on backyard bird photography to the Lancaster Photography Association, which went very well. They’re a great group. The next day, I visited the Prime Desert Woodland Preserve and saw the Joshua trees there. Thanks to Sue Liberto of the LPA for taking me on this journey.
Mark makes great documentaries, such as “Tell Them Who You Are,” a revealing look at his relationship with his father, legendary cinematographer Haskell Wexler. In this case, Mark turned the camera on me, and boy, was I lucky.
I gave my lecture based on my Roger Tory Peterson exhibition of 30 backyard birds, at the Roger Tory Peterson Institute in Jamestown, NY from January 13 through March 8, 2015. The photos are selected from my book BACKYARD BIRD PHOTOGRAPHY. Thanks to Rose Leibowitz for taking this photo of me.
Amazingly, my table with my book BACKYARD BIRD PHOTOGRAPHY is just behind this plaque with a great quote by the legendary nature writer John Burroughs. I work with the John Burroughs Association in New York and try to support the legacy of this fantastic essayist and bird expert. Photo of me next to the Burroughs plaque by Peter Barash.
