Mathew Tekulsky with MLK book

The Martin Luther King Mitzvah

Mathew Tekulsky's novel is a timeless story of two kids who defy the odds, unite a town, and make a brave stand against discrimination.

Photography

Mathew Tekulsky dedicated himself for more then 30 years to photographing birds in his gardens in the Brentwood Hills of Los Angeles, California, and in Adamant, Vermont. This work culminated in the publication of his book Backyard Bird Photography: How to Attract Birds to Your Home and Create Beautiful Photographs (Skyhorse Publishing, 2014). In 2015, the Roger Tory Peterson Institute of Natural History in Jamestown, New York requested that Mr. Tekulsky mount an exhibition of 30 of the bird photographs that are featured in the book. This exhibition, entitled “The Art of Backyard Bird Photography,” has been shown at numerous venues. In the last few years, Mr. Tekulsky has been busy writing fiction, resulting in his first published novel The Martin Luther King Mitzvah (Fitzroy Books, 2018).
