Birds in the Field Gallery
In addition to my backyard bird photography, I enjoy getting out into the field and photographing wild birds in their natural habitat. There is nothing quite like standing next to a Great Blue Heron and capturing a portrait of this fantastic bird; or sidling up to a group of American White Pelicans and picking one out of the pack to feature in an image. From a Golden-backed Plover in Kauai to a Collared Inca in the Ecuadorian cloud forest, the thrill of seeing a bird in the wild and making an image of that wild creature never gets old.
