Mathew Tekulsky with MLK book

The Martin Luther King Mitzvah

Mathew Tekulsky's novel is a timeless story of two kids who defy the odds, unite a town, and make a brave stand against discrimination.

With Robert Iger and Galapagos Birds

With the great Robert A. Iger, Executive Chairman of the Walt Disney Company, yesterday, and “our” book GALAPAGOS BIRDS: A PHOTOGRAPHIC VOYAGE! Bob wrote the blurb on the back cover of the book, which reads, “Mathew Tekulsky has a wonderful eye and a true passion for the beauty and wonder of birds, as this lovely book so clearly demonstrates.” I thank Bob so much for his support of my artistic endeavors and for his insight into the need for environmental preservation, which is the primary reason I have devoted so much of my life to photographing birds. This photograph of Bob and myself was taken by Bob’s son, Max Iger. Thank you, Max!

The Martin Luther King Mitzvah goes to Harvard

My father, Joseph D. Tekulsky, established two Judaica Book Funds at the Harvard Library Judaica Division at his alma mater, Harvard University. I am now looking after these book funds. The Library has requested that I send them a copy of my novel THE MARTIN LUTHER KING MITZVAH (Fitzroy Books, 2018), which I realized qualifies as Judaica. It is an honor and a great tribute to Dad for me to do this.

Robert Iger signs his new book THE RIDE OF A LIFETIME for me!

Robert Iger, Chairman and CEO of the Walt Disney Company, signed his new book THE RIDE OF A LIFETIME for me this morning. In his book, Bob writes about working on a Frank Sinatra concert at Madison Square Garden in the early part of this career; about becoming friends with Steve Jobs and purchasing Pixar; and about learning and leading in the business world and in life. “A little respect goes a long way,” Bob writes, “and the absence of it is often very costly….If you approach and engage people with respect and empathy, the seemingly impossible can become real.”
