Willow Flycatcher image in the Bryan Memorial Gallery 2014 Legacy Collection

The Willow Flycatcher appeared in the 2004 exhibition ENDANGERED SPECIES: Flora & Fauna in Peril at the Wildling Art Museum and at the U.S. Department of the Interior Museum. It is 15 x 22-inches, number 1 of 5. Now it will be presented at the Bryan Memorial Gallery show in Jeffersonville, Vermont. Come one and all, from May 2-December 28, 2014. The bottom photograph is of me in front of the image at the ENDANGERED SPECIES show at the Wildling Art Museum in 2008. The top picture is of me at the Bryan Gallery 7/14/12, a great place for art. IMG_8201bryan_gallery_trip_jeffersonville_bryan_memorial_gallery_mathew_tekulskyDSC_6375wildling_art_museum_endangered_species_opening_mathew_tekulsky_willow_flycatcher_e_xxx

Black Phoebe, Allen’s Hummingbird, and Moon

The Black Phoebe is the black and white object in the center of the top of the tree, and the hummer is just above him to the left, although he looks like a leaf. He flew off right after I took this image, as did the phoebe. The moon is…well, you know. I took this shot on a walk in my neighborhood a few days ago. IMG_4356black_phoebe_allens_hummingbird_moon_bayliss_walk_e_raw

Century City 5/30/13

View of the Century City towers from the Annenberg Space for Photography. I love the way the figures all line up, as if the image were staged. But it wasn’t. It just happened that way. Sometimes people think I’m compulsive about taking photographs, but then one like this pops out of the archives when I least expect it. IMG_4984annenberg_war_photography_e_raw_crop

LA at night 4/8/14, during the day 4/7/14, sunrise fog 4/10/14

4/8/14, night, Westwood at the right, Century City at the left. The Brentwood foothills in the foreground. Funny, the day before, I took a shot of this scene during the day. I cropped it to match the night scene. At the time, I thought, why am I taking this picture. That’s the thing about photography. You never know when some image will find a use. Then, this morning, the fog presented itself, the third in the series I didn’t know I was making. IMG_4548westridge_los_angeles_sunrise_fog_cropIMG_4336westridge_westwood_century_city_day_e_cropIMG_4417westridge_westwood_century_city_night_mars_in_opposition_e_raw
