A closer view of me with six of the Backyard Bird Photography books

I ran across this bird recently and thought the fountain in the background was interesting.
Doing the shoot the other day with the Scrub Jays, I popped off a couple of the book on the patio. Glad I did.
I heard the voices of the little birds as I walked by this hedge, then got a couple of shots of one of them. The parent showed up a few minutes later to feed them, so I took off. Right off of a main street, too.
The book won’t be available to the public until August 5 (although you can pre-order it online discounted from $14.95 to $11 and change) since Sam’s Club bought out our first printing, but I ordered some extra copies from the publisher in advance. Lucky I did, since I can give them away to the nice folks who pose with the book. Opening the box of books right there in the garden where I took the photos was kind of neat.
